Rockford Illinois, January 2023 Cracked pavement and the shadow of naked oak branches intertwine, me and my phone intertwined too, and I realize when I take a photograph, we kind of all become one shadow together, or maybe the opposite of a shadow, a kaleidoscope of light projected again and again from someone’s phone to their face, or maybe it’s both light and dark, yin and yang, being and not being and maybe we were always one to begin with: the picture and the phone, me and the tree and every ray of light and molecule and atom are always blended together, tangled in some layered dimension of time and space projected like a hologram into the universe…Idk, maybe it’s not that serious, It’s just me and my phone and the shadow of a tree on a Wednesday.
