Getting started
Getting the app
Sienna is an iPhone app. Get it on the App Store.
Creating an account
Open Sienna and tap Create an account. You can use Apple, Google, X or an email address. Then add a name and a username, pick some artists to follow, and choose how their posts should reach you.
Getting back into your account
If you signed up with Apple, Google or X, sign in with the same one. If you used an email address and can’t get in, write to support@sienna.art from that address and we’ll help.
Following artists
Following an artist
Tap Subscribe on any of their posts, or find them in Search or under Channels > Discover. You don’t need to own an artist’s work to follow them.
Choosing how an artist reaches you
In Channels, tap the button next to an artist’s name. Instant sends you a notification each time they post. Otherwise their posts arrive quietly in your Inbox and your Brief.
From the same button you can keep an artist out of your Inbox and Brief without unfollowing them, or unsubscribe.
The Brief
Once a day, Sienna gathers the posts you haven’t opened yet into one short read. It arrives at 9:00 AM where you are. To change the time, go to Profile, tap the gear and choose Brief time. A day with nothing new doesn’t get a Brief.
Notifications aren’t arriving
Check that notifications for Sienna are allowed in your iPhone’s Settings, and that Push is on in Sienna’s Settings (Profile, then the gear). A notification for each post only comes from artists you’ve set to Instant. Everyone else waits for your Brief.
Posting
Who can post
Artists we approve. To ask, write to artists@sienna.art with a link to your work. Until then your account can follow, read and get a Brief like everyone else.
What a post can hold
A title and a body with text, photos, video, audio and links. You can mark a post as a Release, Event, Work or Recognition, or leave it as a plain post.
Analytics
Tap the numbers on your Profile to open Analytics. It shows how your latest release did, with impressions, open rate and taps, and your subscriber count. New numbers can take up to 15 minutes to appear. Sienna never shows you a list of who follows you.
Taking a post down
Write to takedown@sienna.art from the email address on your account and tell us which post.
Safety
Reporting a post or an account
Open the post or the channel, tap ··· and choose Report, then pick a reason. Reporting a channel reports the person behind it. We review reports within 24 hours. If someone is in danger, contact local emergency services first.
Blocking someone
Open their channel or one of their posts, tap ··· and choose Block. You stop following each other, and neither of you sees the other’s posts or channel, including in Search. They aren’t told. To unblock, go to Profile, tap the gear and open your blocked list.
Your account
Changing your name, picture or links
Go to Profile and tap Edit. Your handle, bio and links can be seen by other people signed in to Sienna. Nothing on Sienna is visible to people who aren’t signed in.
Light and dark
Sienna follows your iPhone’s setting. To choose one, go to Profile, tap the gear and pick Appearance.
Deleting your account
Go to Profile, tap the gear and choose Delete account. This removes your account and profile, the artists you follow and, if you post, your channel, posts and media. It can’t be undone.
If you can’t sign in, write to support@sienna.art from the address on the account and we’ll delete it for you.
Privacy and terms
Read how we handle your information in the Privacy Policy, and the rules for using Sienna in the Terms of Service.
